A Note from the State Superintendent

http://safeshare.tv/w/jLoOBiEtik

Check out the following link to hear a message from our State Superintendent of Education, Molly Spearman.  She discusses the new South Carolina State Standards and the new state test, ACT Aspire.

Have you ever wondered what we do once the students leave?

Here’s a peek at what the 3rd grade teachers worked on during our half day professional development.  We have been studying more ways to use formative assessment and text dependent questions to drive our instruction.

Changes in Transportation
PLEASE be sure that ALL changes in transportation are being communicated through the front office each day by 2:15.  If you send a note I will be sure that it is delivered to the office.  PLEASE be sure to call the front office, and they will inform us.  We want to ensure that everyone is getting home the correct way.  Thank  you so much for your help with this.
Keep collecting those donations!!  Money can be collected and returned to school between now and February 27.  Thank you for helping support this great cause.

A Message from Student Council:
Keep collecting those coins!!  From Monday, Feb. 2- Friday, Feb. 20, Rice Creek Student Council is sponsoring a Pennies for Patients fundraising campaign to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This week your child brought home an individual collection box and began collecting spare change from around your house. We have added a lot to our class' collection box already!  The class that collects the most money will get a party, sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
